11 Young balleros off to manila for the JR. NBA/JR. WNBA PHILIPPINES 2016 Natl. Training Camp

Young cagers gathered & showcased their skills on the hardcourt as Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Philippines 2016 presented by Alaska went to Ateneo de Davao University, Matina campus on last February 27-28 for the fourth staging of the Regional Selection Camp in Mindanao.  Seven boys and four girls were selected from 543 kids who participated in this year’s program.

The young athletes excelled in the skills stations and scrimmages and exemplified the Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA core S.T.A.R. values of Sportsmanship, Teamwork, a positive Attitude and Respect throughout the camp.  The kids will also represent Mindanao in the Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Philippines National Training Camp this April and will try out with top players from the four Regional Selection Camps for the chance to be named as Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Philippines All-Star and participate in an overseas NBA experience.

Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Philippines Regional Selection Camp recently visit Baguio and will be in Cebu (March 5-6) followed by Manila (April 9-10).  Boys and girls ages 10-14 can still register to the free youth basketball program at www.jrnba.asia/philippines, where the program terms and conditions can be found.

Brgy. Ginebra 3 on 3 natonwide tournament

Ginebra San Miguel Inc. recently announced their upcoming summer activity on GINdependence Day. One of the interesting event to all the GIN Kings fans and basketball lovers. Ginebra San Miguel will having a 3 on 3 Basketball tournament in different baranggay’s nationwide.

These Barangay teams will battle it off to be their area’s representative for the national championships. The top 16 teams from the identified areas will face-off against one another in a championship tournament that will determine this year’s three-on-three national champion.

The winning team from each area will get P3,000 plus GSMI products and a once in a lifetime chance to play for the national championships. Like the “Ginebra San Miguel” Facebook page, for more exciting news on this event.

NBA Superstar RIP Hamilton visit yolanda victim with Globe Tattoo Team

Today NBA Superstar, 3x All-Star, former NBA champion NBA Cares Ambassador Richard “RIP” Hamilton visits Philippines to help the victim of Typhoon Haiyan together with Globe Tattoo here at NBA Cafe Manila inside SM Aura in Taguig City.

Allen "The Answer" Iverson in manila

Yes, the long wait is over. finally the 11-time All-Star will be coming to the Philippines for a series of charity events. also wanted to send love and sympathy towards the country after disaster made of Super Typhoon “ Haiyan”.  Iverson’s camp and their management’s partner in the Philippines, Sports Network Management led by Sheryl Reyes announced that iverson will be in the philippines in november.

Iverson known with his signature move’s killer cross-over and the famous different dreadlocks disign every game. Iverson had a celebrated 15-year NBA career and had his best moments with the Philadelphia 76ers, the team who drafted him first overall back in 1996 where he led the franchise to the Finals in 2001.

He last played in Turkey in 2011 before announcing his retirement October of last year. His no. 3 jersey is set to be officially retired by the 76ers.
